Great North Run Membership
The information on this page relates to existing Great North Run members who hold the following active memberships: 2024-2026 and 2025-2027.

All members whose membership covers the 2024 – 2026 and 2025 – 2027 period have access to the following benefits:
- Secure a guaranteed place in the AJ Bell Great North Run each year of membership (subject to payment of each year’s entry fee and registration).
- An exclusive members technical training top worth £20 – this applies to the first year of membership only
- Free professional medal ceremony photo taken on the day of the event, courtesy of our friends at Marathon Photos, each year of your membership
- 10% discount off AJ Bell Great Run Series events (excludes Great North Run and Junior and Mini Great North Run) – all members will receive an email with a one-time use discount code.
Please be aware you do still need to pay your entry fee and register each year. Your membership means you’ll be sent a link to enter and won’t need to apply for the ballot (See FAQ below).

Great North Run Membership FAQ
How do I secure my priority entry into the 2026 AJ Bell Great North Run?
All members of the AJ Bell Great North Run membership scheme will be sent an email in November with instructions on how to secure their priority place in the 2026 event. The email is sent from run@email-great-run.org so please ensure you add this address to your safe senders list and keep an eye on your junk mail folders.
The email will include a link to our booking partner Let’s Do This that is unique to you. You will need to follow the instructions and complete payment for your entry before the specified deadline to secure your place.
I haven’t received an email, what do I do?
Please contact the customer services team if you don’t receive an email, so they can help you get your priority entry secured before the deadline.
When do I receive my Great North Run Technical Training T-shirt?
This technical training top was posted out in the first year of your membership term. If you joined the AJ Bell Great North Run Membership scheme for 2025-2027 this was sent out in January 2025.
When do I receive my Great North Run photo?
As you approach the finish, look out for the ‘Members Photo’ signage ahead of the medal garlanding station and follow the signs into the members’ photo lane. A Marathon Photos photographer will capture the moment the medal is placed around your neck. Your photo will be ready to view and download on Marathon photos after the event.
When my membership term expires, can I renew this?
At the end of the membership period, members will be given the option to renew their membership at the newly published membership fee. We send an email to all members whose term has expired when entries for the new membership term opens.
